CSR Activities

At Pinnacle Group, the focus right from our very first project has been people first. This ethos doesn’t end at our customers and employees but extends to those in surrounding communities. Our emphasis on diversity and inclusion reflects within the spaces it creates as well as outside of it.

All CSR projects of Pinnacle Group are led by Group’s Director, Mrs. Sadhana Pawar. As a champion for women’s empowerment, she shown a steadfast and longstanding commitment to the Kishori Shakti Project, a part of the Government of India’s Niramay Bharat initiative. Within Pune, Mrs. Pawar has played a leading role in establishing the presence of this national initiative and evaluating its impact.

Niramay Bharat

The Niramay Bharat initiative is driven by a clear purpose: developing centres for adolescent girls from underprivileged backgrounds to ensure that they are not forced into early marriage and motherhood by their parents’ poverty and illiteracy. The initiative’s mission mirrors Pinnacle Group’s desire to ensure to uplift communities.

Kishori Shakti centres are developed to fulfil the objective of providing a secure place for education, one that has counselling resources, opportunities for learning through interactions and activities, and access to supportive female mentors. To this end, each centre of Kishori Shakti has:

  • A safe space to learn and study
  • A counselling centre
  • A welcoming sheltered area to play
  • An elder sister or a guide who can provide emotional support and direction
  • An activity centre to learn life skills
  • A healthcare centre so that physical well-being is taken care of
  • A guidance centre for entrepreneurship development

At each Kishori Shakti centre, 3 hour classes are conducted per day, with 1 hour allocated to indoor and outdoor games to help the girls channelize their energy positively. Each centre is coordinated and managed by a Sanghatika who has access to the modules and activity schedules and is trained twice per year. All the activities are individualized according to the needs of each slum and its children.

The activities conducted for the girls include the distribution of notebooks, yoga classes, participation in the Pandharpur Palkhi procession, street plays, the celebration of Guru Purnima, and art based activities such as making craft from waste.

There are now a total of 20 successful Kishori centers at 20 different slum areas in Pune, providing over 2,000 girls the necessary resources to lead independent and fruitful lives. The class centres have been listed below.

This will be complemented with enhanced ventilation, strong daylighting, excellent sanitation facilities, and systems that boost occupants’ productivity. Solar panels will be installed, while fitting options will include energy-efficient fans, air conditioners and lighting with LEDs instead of CFLs.
